“God’s Eye” Artist Residency
During the semester, in collaboration with the local government of the 12th district of Budapest , our task was the revitalization of the former God’s Eye Inn located in Zugliget. In addition to preserving the historical value of the building, an important aspect was exploring the possibilities for expansion. During the transformation of the house, I focused on diverse space utilization and functional separability.

Design program
When renovating the Haggenmacher villa, my primary focus was to preserve the wild, almost picturesque atmosphere of the site, which also served as an inspiration for me. Based on this, I created a center that allows for creative freedom for all generations. The driving force of the building complex is an artist-in-residence program, operated on a grant basis. Winning applicants, who move in for 6-12 months, hold creative workshops for the community in exchange for favorable living and working conditions. Both adults and children visiting the site can step out of their everyday routines and experience the joy of creation. In cooperation with local schools, multi-day creative camps can be organized, while weekend workshops and afternoon activities are also available. Creative workshops are open to all ages during evening hours after working hours. In summer, the facility can also host cultural festivals and serve as an artist colony.
Landscape Interventions
I considered the lush vegetation on the site as an asset, and besides the necessary clearing work, I felt that only a few subtle interventions were justified. In place of the old pond, I established a rain garden, which is ideally located to manage water runoff from the surrounding hills, and I reused the existing concrete layer as crushed material. The temporary water surface and wetland can serve as an exciting playground for children.
